The successful candidate will be the technical focal point for upper and lower completion applications, responsible for developing fit-for-purpose completion solutions, supporting field execution, and driving technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires extensive experience in completion design, packers, safety valves, tubing stress analysis, sand control, and Open Hole Gravel Pack (OHGP) applications. The candidate must be capable of working directly with customers, field operations, product line teams, and global engineering organizations to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective completion systems.

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the design and application engineering of upper and lower completion systems for offshore and onshore projects.
• Developing optimized completion architectures based on reservoir, wellbore, and operational requirements.
• Selecting and specify completion equipment including production packers, retrievable and permanent packers, SCSSVs, gas lift systems, flow control devices, sliding sleeves, landing nipples, seal assemblies, and intelligent completion components.
• Providing technical ownership of OHGP and sand control applications, including screen selection, gravel pack design, and execution support.
• Performing detailed engineering analysis including tubing stress, burst, collapse, tension, compression, buckling, thermal effects, packer load calculations, and seal movement evaluations.
• Utilizing engineering software such as WellCat and other completion design tools to validate completion designs and operating envelopes.
• Reviewing customer requirements and recommend technically compliant and commercially optimized solutions.
• Supporting tenders, technical proposals, and customer presentations.
• Participating in design reviews, risk assessments and lessons learned workshops.
• Providing operational support during equipment preparation, installation, commissioning, and well start-up activities.
• Troubleshooting field issues and lead technical investigations, failure analyses, and corrective action recommendations.
• Acting as the primary technical interface between the customer, operations teams, manufacturing facilities, and global engineering resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and support competency development within the organization.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of completion engineering experience with strong exposure to both upper and lower completions.
• Proven experience with:

  • Gas Lift Systems
  • Sand Control Technologies
  • Open Hole Gravel Pack (OHGP) Applications
  • Deepwater and offshore completion systems
  • Tubing Stress Analysis Software
• Demonstrated experience supporting major operator projects and customer-facing engineering activities.
• Excellent understanding of well integrity, completion reliability, and field execution best practices.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams in complex drilling and completion environments.

• Have excellent customer engagement and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and influence customer decision-making.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution and operational excellence.
