HSE Advisor

Alpha Mead Group is a Total Real Estate Solutions Company established to provide robust business support services to local and international Real Estate investors or owners with interests in Facilities Management, Real Estate Development and Advisory, Security Systems and Technologies, Training, Healthcare Management, and Real Estate Financing Services. We are seeking a dedicated and result-driven HSE Advisor to join our team. As an HSE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility within our organization. You will work closely with management and employees to develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures that ensure compliance with local and international regulations.Responsibilities(A) Health, Safety, and Environment ComplianceDevelop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.Ensure all activities on-site adhere to safety protocols and best practices.(B) Risk Assessment and Incident ManagementConduct risk assessments for ongoing projects, maintenance tasks, and facility operations to mitigate hazards.Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention.Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system and ensure timely escalation when required(C) Facility Management IntegrationProvide HSE oversight and guidance for all facility management activities, including maintenance, repairs, and tenant services.Monitor contractors and third-party service providers to ensure compliance with HSE standards during facility operations.Conduct regular checks on fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and other critical systems.(D) Training and AwarenessDevelop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to build a safety-first culture.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE initiatives and programsOrganize drills, such as fire evacuations, and ensure employees are prepared for emergencies.(E) Documentation and ReportingMaintain accurate records of HSE inspections, risk assessments, incidents, and audits.Prepare periodic reports for senior management on HSE performance, compliance status, and recommendations.(F) Stakeholder EngagementAct as the point of contact for regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.Collaborate with project teams, facility managers, and tenants to align on HSE goals and objectives. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 4 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the real estate industryNEBOSH certification is a must-haveRelevant HSE certifications, such as ISO 45001, are requiredIn-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards applicable to Nigeria and international best practicesProven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and proceduresStrong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysisProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HSE management softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Good professional appearance and attitude.Diplomatic, tactful, discreet, flexible, resourceful and dependableExcellent leadership and project management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamOutstanding organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
