You will be manager in a team responsible for the overall financial integrity and performance of a country, category, Supply Chain or FP&A. You will support the Senior Manager or Director in data collection to prepare business proposals, verify assumptions, check daily execution and support delivery of overall objectives and ensure the integrity and timeliness of reporting. You may also have a direct report or manage third party providers resources.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Manage and execute aspects of finance planning and performance management process and related financial decisions potentially including Strategic Plan and Annual Contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, financial modeling and decision support for a focused scope within a region, business unit, country, Supply Chain, Mondelēz International Business Services or Corporate Finance team. You will own data collection and verify data integrity
  • Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our policies
  • Help the senior manager and the business prepare critical financial data and insight that enable perspectives for business strategies and decisions
  • Lead projects to improve efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and embrace a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to a high-performing Finance team. You will also invest in personal development and the development of Finance peers and drive our Finance talent agenda within the organization, with a focus on local FP&A pipeline

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in financial planning and performance management including data collection and structuring, analyzing, planning and reporting company financial performance across all financial KPIs and investment decisions and cost management to achieve financial targets
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business, consumer packaged goods industry, and local snacking market dynamics. Relevant experience in a regional/local business
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including experience with business partnering and communication skills across a large regional or local public company

What you need to know about this position:


- The Category Finance Manager is the end-to-end finance business partner for the West Africa category portfolio. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring a commercially astute finance professional who will serve as the strategic financial adviser to the Category and Marketing leadership teams. You will own the full category P&L, drive brand investment decisions, and deliver the financial analysis and insight that shapes category strategy. You will operate with a high degree of independence, manage multiple senior stakeholders, and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment.


What extra ingredients you will bring:


Category Business Partnering & Strategic Finance

- Act as the primary finance business partner across the full category value chain from strategy through to execution, partnering with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain leadership.

- Lead category strategy planning, annual contract development, and long-range strategic planning processes.

- Own the category P&L end-to-end: reporting, analysis, forecasting, and variance management.


Financial Analysis, Insight & Decision Support

- Perform in-depth financial analysis to generate actionable insight that directly informs senior leadership decision-making.

- Prepare robust business cases and financial justifications for investment proposals, innovation projects, and cost initiatives.

- Lead brand performance analysis, including marketing/A&C investment effectiveness, pricing strategy and architecture reviews, and promotional ROI assessment.


FP&A, Forecasting & Reporting

- Drive the monthly forecasting cycle, rolling estimates, and periodic financial reporting for the category.

- Deliver accurate, timely P&L reporting with clear commentary on performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.

- Ensure data integrity across all planning and reporting outputs.


Brand Investment & Pricing

- Partner with Marketing to evaluate and recommend brand investment decisions, including advertising, consumer promotion, and trade spend allocation.

- Support pricing strategy development and architecture to optimize revenue growth and margin delivery.


Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving commercial performance and ways of working.

- Chair or co-lead project meetings, manage timelines, and drive accountability for deliverables.

- Engage confidently with senior leaders, including the BU Finance Director and Category/Marketing Directors, providing clear, well-structured financial perspectives.

- Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment within the category finance scope, in line with MDLZ policies.


Education / Certifications:


- University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.


Job specific requirements:


Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within FMCG Sector.

Strong business acumen: deep understanding of commercial drivers, consumer goods dynamics, and local/regional beverage and snacking markets.

Proven analytical capability: able to translate complex data into clear, decision-ready insight.

Independent and self-directed: comfortable owning deliverables end-to-end with minimal supervision.

Mature, resilient professional: manages competing priorities, and consistently meets tight deadlines.

Excellent stakeholder management: credible and influential with senior leaders; able to challenge constructively.

Strong communication skills: can present financial narratives clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.

Growth and digital mindset: identify opportunities to leverage technology and improve efficiency.
