To provide subject matter expertise for the Credit Risk end-to-end portfolio management processes in line with the Credit Risk Management policies within a specific sector, contributing to the success of the organisation's clients in this industry. To identify opportunities to streamline Credit Risk processes in order to achieve efficiency and effectiveness benefits within a specific sector. Lead early detection of deterioration in performance of counterparties.Develop, update and continuously review tools and templates for Credit Risk within CIB in order to simplify processes and extract efficiencies. Ensure overall portfolio management and monitoring within stipulated KPIs.Lead and drive pre-approved headroom limits for target clients with downward delegation of authority as appropriate, particularly in identified sectors, supported by fit-for-purpose credit papers to enable faster and consistent turnaround times. Exercise Delegated Authority within specified Mandate: DA5/6.Lead and drive collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the entire Credit Risk value chain in defence of the current book and to identify new transactions.Embed the ongoing understanding of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, with adherence to SBG Environmental and Social Risk policies, procedures, processes and standards in order to drive sustainable value creation for the organisation.Lead the Credit Risk team within a specific and dedicated sector to include ESG considerations and ensure they are adequately and meaningfully addressed in all credit papers on an ongoing basis.Lead the Credit Risk team by providing leadership as it relates to climate risk in order to ensure alignment in credit decisioning and risk appetite. Consider climate change implications on the financial position of clients within a dedicated portfolio.Ensure data quality in order to enhance and optimise data integrity and accuracy of Credit Risk team inputs into all processes, systems and decisions.Implement key portfolio metrics, including but not limited to, reviews, covenant and information undertaking assessments, ratings, collateral, excesses, LGD analysis and breaches), to ensure alignment to thresholds and risk appetite with a key focus on capital efficiency.Lead the Credit Risk team within a specific portfolio to continuously monitor and identify distressed clients and sectors under pressure in order to develop mitigating actions to reduce risks. Facilitate Rapid Risk Review assessments and/or Risk note submissions on the portfolio for potential escalation of clients to heightened risk monitoring forums.Provide leadership, coaching and on the job ongoing training to all Credit Risk team members within a dedicated portfolio to ensure adherence to all relevant standards, policies and guidelines applicable to Credit Risk.Conduct ongoing assessments of client and sector risk to ensure that probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD) and exposure at default (EAD) remain a fair reflection of the risk position within a dedicated portfolio.Conduct detailed analytical work with a high level of accuracy in order to deliver high level results to senior management, and contribute to the management and education of enhanced credit risk approaches.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders and risk managers to ensure credit risk principals are effectively embedded into operational activities.Prepare and review analysis papers and ensure that high quality analytical papers are written and delivered to appropriate senior management and committees. Present these papers in an effective manner appropriate to the audience. Ensure completion of minutes and close out of action items within stipulated timeframe. Provide oversight to Financial Close process of new transactions ensuring all necessary steps and processes have been dealt.Analyse and constructively critique output across the wider Banking Credit function for the business impacts (including regulatory and external audit) to ensure committee papers consider portfolio, modelling and data risks, and ultimately propose strategic recommendations that are underpinned by a compelling case.Identify inefficiencies and propose operational process improvements to enable better outcomes for the Credit Risk Function within CIB.Monitor industry/sector trends and developments to determine if any of these negatively affects counterparties we lend to in order to mitigate risks.Establish a high performance culture within the Credit Portfolio Function by managing people throughout the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit, performance management, training and development, discipline and grievance management, retention and reward and people administration. Type of Qualification: First Degree Field of Study: Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Mathematical Sciences, Risk Management, Quantitative Studies Experience Required Credit Risk – CIB Risk & Corporate Affairs 12-18 years Finance and Accounting, Risk Management and Credit Experience - The role requires an experienced specialist and subject matter leader with proven capability and experience in a quantitative risk function. Conceptual understanding of credit policies/principles and how its successful application can lead to market success. At least 8 years credit experience.
